A Canadian, a Blue Jay (who got away) and a Pretty Useless Map

Random.org chose the following as my random card of the day. This 2017 Upper Deck Team Canada #44 featuring Sam Reinhart.

Reinhart has to be the least likely 57 goal scorer in the history of the NHL. Seriously, where did that come from. Can't say I watched many Panther games at all last year, not sure if he just got on an insane heater or what. Zach Hyman's 54 last year were slightly less surprising since he rides shotgun on the wing of the best player in the world.

I currently own 28 Reinhart cards and 407 Team Canada cards.

My favourite new card I added to my catalogue recently is this 2022 Bowman Chrome - 2021 AFL Fall Stars insert #AFLS-14 featuring Gabriel Moreno of the Toronto Blue Jays

Why ? Because Toronto sports fans are destined to suffer.

New additions to my all-time roster project catalogued yesterday were :

  • Bradenton Marauders player # 6 - Dariel Lopez
  • Brown Bears (baseball) player #1 - Olivia Pichardo
  • Cleveland Guardians player #12 - Gabriel Arias

  • Virginia Cavaliers (football) player #2 - Dontayvion Wicks
  • West Virginia Mountaineers (football) player #3 - CJ Donaldson Jr.
  • West Virginia Mountaineers (football) player #4 - Nicco Marchiol

No links to the cards today, more than half don't have an image on TCDB, and until I can find time to fire up the scanner, doesn't make sense trying to figure out which do and which don't.

My All-time roster project now stands at 15,243 combinations. The 2 new teams represented by a first card bring the unique number of teams to 953.

My random postcard of the day is this card from Mexico City, Mexico featuring a stylized map of the city centre.

This card is unwritten and was bought when I was on an extended work assignment living in Mexico City. I currently have 99 catalogued postcards from Mexico.

A Titan, a Blue Jay and a Hall of Fame

Random.org chose the following as my random card of the day. This 2018 Panini Certified Football - Mirror Silver parallel #150 featuring Harold Landry of the Tennessee Titans.

I appear to be the only person who has this card in their collection on TCDB, although oddly, I didn't submit the image so where it came from who knows. I own serial number 305 out of the 499. Must confess I really don't know much about Mr. Landry, but looking him up, I see he still plays for the Titans, so he's had a decent enough run in the NFL. Might be time to track down a Boston College card of his for my ATR project.

I currently own 3 Landry cards and 124 Tennessee Titans cards

My favourite new card I added to my catalogue yesterday is this 2017 Bowman Draft - Class of 2017 Autographs insert # C17A-LW featuring Logan Warmoth of the Toronto Blue Jays. Favourite as it was a first card of him for the Blue Jays ATR and a first auto of his, even if I'm not a big auto chaser.

Warmoth was a first round pick of the Jays that year, but has never appeared in a MLB game. He's still grinding it out in the minors. Looking it up, he's with the Mariners Double A club right now hitting a robust .193. After putting up a .091 at AAA in Tacoma, getting released and a .100 at Reno this year. Guessing that MLB debut might have to wait a while.

New additions to my all-time roster project catalogued yesterday were:

My All-time roster project now stands at 15,137 combinations.

My random postcard of the day is this card featuring the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario Canada. This is its previous location on the grounds of the Canadian National Exhibition along the Toronto waterfront, it has since moved to a new building in downtown Toronto.

This card is unwritten and I bought it, although I don't recall where. I currently own, or at least have catalogued 566 postcards from Canada.

A Blue Jay, A Canadian and a Bridge

Random.org chose the following as my random card of the day. This 2022 Topps Chrome #36 featuring Alek Manoah of the Toronto Blue Jays. It's been hard enough to be a Jays fan this year, then Random.org has to deliver this swift kick to the babymaker just to rub it in. Who knows, maybe Manoah can get back to his All-Star form after he recovers from his arm tuneup.

I currently own 17 Manoah cards and 769 Blue Jays cards.

My favourite new card I added to my catalogue yesterday is this 2022 Upper Deck Team Canada Juniors - Team Canada Acetates #CA-23 featuring Grayden Siepmann of Team Canada. hits two sweet spots in my collecting likes, Team Canada and an acetate card, even if this one isn't quite a full-on acetate.

New additions to my all-time roster project catalogued yesterday were none. I didn't catalog any cards yesterday, spent time on other organizing.

My All-time roster project now (still) stands at 15,113 entries.

My random postcard of the day is this card from Bosnia & Herzegovina featuring the old town of Mostar at night. It is unwritten, and I acquired this card through an online postcard exchange group. I currently own 5 postcards from Bosnia & Herzegovina.

A Viking, A Viking (SKOL!) and a Window to the Stars.

Random.org chose the following as my random card of the day. This 2020 Panini Select #37 featuring C.J. Ham of the Minnesota Vikings. Ham a...
