 Random.org chose the following as my random card of the day. 2011 Hoops #56 featuring Richard Hamilton of the Chicago Bulls. Kind of a meh design and card, but face-masked Rip is always at least a bit of a nice deal.

I currently own 5 Richard Hamilton cards and 134 Chicago Bulls cards.

My favourite new card I added to my catalogue yesterday is this 2024 Upper Deck All-Star Toronto AS-AM card of Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs. I picked it up at a show on the weekend, had never seen this card or the design before, and it wasn't even pictured on TCDB. It is part of an 8 card promo set issued by Upper Deck in conjunction with the 2024 NHL All-Star game. I found a few others from the set in the same bargain box. Needless to say, I did not find the Connor Bedard card from the set in that box.

My random postcard of the day is this card from New Zealand featuring 5 native birds. Any postcard featuring native wildlife will always be a winner for me. This card is unused and was bought at an antique mall vendor stall. I currently own 19 postcards from New Zealand.

My favourite new card I added to my catalogue yesterday is this 2010 Panini Pinnacle hockey #44 featuring Marc-Andre Fleury of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Fleury is of course still active and a likely surefire Hall of Famer once he retires. Chosen simply because I like the action shot.

My favourite new card I added to my catalogue yesterday is this 2017 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Basketball - College Ticket of Alec Peters of Valparaiso University. Peters got into 20 games with the Phoenix Suns in 2017, and is still successfully playing in Europe. Some folks may love to chase Ohtani or Stroud or Bedard autos etc, me I get excited at less notable. The more obscure, the better. It is also my choice as it is the first Valparaiso Crusaders card I have in my collection.

My random postcard of the day is this card from Church Stretton showing its famous woolcarding valley. It was posted from the town in July 1907. I purchased this card from an antique mall vendor. It is 1 of 224 cards from the United Kingdom in my collection.

An Introduction 

So, to introduce this space, it covers the OCD's (Organizing, Cataloguing and Describing) of my collecting journey.

My collecting habits cover sports cards and postcards. I don't do breaks, I open very few boxes, so don't expect a lot of focus on hits etc. My collection of postcards is global, with a special interest on churches and wildlife. For sports cards, my primary focus is hockey, followed by baseball, football and basketball in varying degrees. My biggest project is an 'all-time' roster project for all 4 major sports.

The intention is to share, hopefully daily the following:

• a nice new card just added to my collection
